CONTROL AND CODING OF TRAINING PACKAGES
|
ANTA has developed a specific style for tracking changes to
training packages and their constituent components. Recognition
of that style may assist users of training packages to determine
the currency of the information.
|
Each training package has been assigned a unique five-character
code. The first three characters are letters representative
of the industry or training package title. The last two characters
represent the year the training package was initially endorsed.
An initial Z identifies the training package as an enterprise
package. The code ZWV03 identifies the World Vision enterprise
training package as first endorsed in 2003. Units of competency
and qualifications originating within a training package will
all commence with the first three letters of the training package
code.
|
All Units of Competency are
assigned a unique 12-character code. The last character in the
code will always be a letter representing the version identifier.
When it first appears, a unit of competency will always have
an ‘A’ as a version identifier. When significant
changes are made to the unit, the version identifier will change
to ‘B’, and so on.
|
Within the Humanitarian Relief training package, units of
competency are coded using the following system:
|
Z = denotes an enterprise rather than industry developed
training package
WV = World Vision
03 = year of initial endorsement (2003)
xx = two letters denote the sectoral area of the unit as
follows:
|
CM : Commodities
FN : Finance
GN : Generic units
HE : Health
HR : Human Resources
PR : Programming
SH : Shelter
|
n = a number (3,4 or 5) denoting the AQF level of the unit
nnn = three numbers unique to the unit (eg 001, 002)
A = version identifier (A in the initial publication and
changed only when the specific unit is revised)
|
For example, ZWV03PR4001A is the code for the initial version
of the first AQF IV level unit in the Programming sector of
this training package (Assess Local Needs and Resources).
|
All Qualifications have been
assigned a unique eight-character code. The first three characters
identify the training package from which the qualifications
originate. The next character is a number corresponding to the
Australian Qualification Framework level of the Qualification.
The next two characters are numbers assigned to number the qualification
within the AQF level. The last two characters (version identifier)
are numbers and represent the year in which the qualification
was endorsed. In all instances, qualifications included in the
original Training Package have an identical version number to
those of the originating training package. Where qualifications
are added later, they are assigned a version identifier commensurate
with the year of endorsement of the qualification. As an example,
the qualification ZWV30203 can be determined to be the second
AQF 3 qualification from the ZWV Training Package, endorsed
in 2003.
|
| Review Date |
| On the title page and in the footer of each page
of a training package there is reference to a review date. This
review date is determined at the time of endorsement of the
training package and in effect indicates the date by which the
training package is to be reviewed in the light of changing
technologies, circumstances, industrial relations, etc. This
review date is not to be regarded as an expiry date of the training
package and its components will remain current until it is reviewed
or replaced.
