RECENT EVENTS
2nd Assessors Training in Bandung, Indonesia (July 14-18)

The second assessor training was held in Bandung, Indonesia. A trainer from the University of Melbourne once again facilitated the event. The training went well and many have learned what the Relief Competencies assessment and training were all about. There were 22 participants from Philippines, China, India and Indonesia from which a big number of the Rapid Response Team members come from.
Asia Relief Forum, Bangkok, Thailand (Aug 5-8)

There were 25 attendees to the annual Relief Forum, with representatives from 8 countries in Asia Pacific and one representative from Africa. This was a time to share Relief competency standards to the relief managers in each country besides other relief issues on the agenda. All agreed how important it was to have capacity for each of their staff in relief. Trips are planned to visit the countries in Asia Pacific to share the program and to select staff to go through the assessment and training to build staff capacity.

2nd Moderators Workshop in Jakarta, Indonesia (Aug 25-29)

The second moderator's workshop was held in Jakarta and many of the assessors who were part of the training in the previous year were able to attend. Twenty two staff from Germany, US, Australia, India, Philippines and Indonesia attended. The workshop went extremely well with many results that put the competency standards program into high gear.

Competency Task Group Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand (Sep 22-26)

Eight members comprising of a Task Group met in Bangkok to look at core competency framework to be used in recruiting, behaviors required in our work and appraisals. These core capabilities focuses on staff behavior and abilities derived from the vision statement and core values of WV. These core capabilities will be used together with the relief competencies to be able to have a complete assessment take place including the technical and behavior skills.

ARRT Consultation Meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia (Oct 7-9)

This was a time set aside to hold a three-day consultation time for Asia Rapid Response Team (ARRT) members in Asia Pacific. Twenty members attended. The first two days were spent in a simulation exercise where two teams responded to two category II disasters. This served as a good opportunity to see RRT members' skills and abilities in a response to disasters. The last day was spent on actual consultation where issues of deployments, incentives, roster, reporting, appraisals, link with the competency standards, capacity building, among others, were brought up. It was agreed upon in this meeting that the competency standards and the RRT members profile would be closely linked, to wit: Certificate III = Category I, Certificate IV = Category II, Diploma = Category III. RRT members will be assessed and trained on a regular basis which will build up their profiles and level as members. adipex without prescription 37.5 mg
