TRAINING PACKAGE SUPPORT MATERIALS
|
Training package support materials are produced
by Registered Training Organisations, private and commercial
developers, DETYA, State Training Authorities and by ANTA to
support the implementation of the training package. These materials
consist of:
|
- Learning strategies that
provide information to assist training providers to design
specific training programs to assist trainees attain the
required competencies;
- Assessment materials that
can be used to gather evidence of competency. They are designed
to provide assessors with sufficient information to make
reliable judgements about whether a person has met the required
competency standard, and
- Professional development
materials that provide information, hints and resources
for trainers and assessors about how to successfully implement
a Training
Package.
|
Registered Training Organisations may develop their own
supporting resources or use any resources developed specifically
to support a Training Package. In the case of an enterprise
Training Package, such as the Humanitarian Relief Training
Package, ANTA does not fund the development of support materials.

Supporting materials are generally produced to directly relate
to single or multiple units of competency, industry sectors,
qualifications or the total training package. One of the benefits
of the training package approach is that existing supporting
materials can be reviewed and adjusted to align with new competency
standards or qualifications. Totally new resources are not
necessarily required and existing materials can remain relevant.
Supporting materials tend to relate to one or more of the
categories illustrated below:
