WORLD VISION INTERNATIONAL

World Vision is a major international Non Government Organisation (NGO). It was established in 1950 and now has offices in 107 countries. World Vision is a Christian, child focused NGO employing 14,000 staff throughout the world. In line with other major NGOs, World Vision has experienced a rapid increase in relief response requests over the last five years. For example, Food Aid distribution jumped from 188 metric tonnes in the year to July 1999 to 312 metric tonnes in the year to July 2000. As at mid 2001, WV had a global relief budget of approximately $US 200 million.

World Vision is organised as a partnership, comprising independent national offices grouped according to geographic regions (Asia Pacific, Middle East and Europe, Latin America and Caribbean and Africa). World Vision International coordinates global initiatives and responses on behalf of the collective World Vision partnership.

World Vision Australia is the largest Australian NGO, is the largest recipient of Australian government funding for humanitarian work and enjoys a very high level of public recognition and support. In 1999-2000, the last year for which figures are currently available, World Vision received over $16,000,000 in Australian Government funding. winzip alternative . laptop replacement screen . model escort agency in Moscow .
